Oscar O. Hinojosa Sr.

LEIPSIC – Oscar O. Hinojosa Sr., 87, of Leipsic, passed away at 2:25 p.m. on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at his residence.  He was born September 30, 1934 in General Trevino, Nuevo Leon, Mexico to the late Jesus Maria and Maria De Los Angeles (Salinas) Hinojosa.  On May 6, 1956, he married Martha Ochoa, she preceded him in death on October 29, 2016.

Oscar is also survived by four children: Martha (Lawrence) Vielhaber of Westerville, Mireya (David) Glocker, Oscar (Beth) Hinojosa Jr., both of Jacksonville, FL., and Myrna (Keith) Hartwig of Cypress, TX; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law: Jesus Ochoa;  two sisters-in-law: Maria De La Luz Ochoa, and Cristela Hinojosa.

He is preceded in death by a sister, Josefina Rodriguez; and two brothers, Juan Hinojosa, and Jesse (Vi) Hinojosa.

Oscar was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Leipsic.  He enjoyed tinkering with things and restoring them.  Oscar was an avid fan of the San Francisco 49ers and the Cincinnati Reds.

Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Leipsic with Father Steve Schroeder officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  A visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church.  Arrangements are under the direction of LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic.
