Patricia A. Romes

OTTAWA – Patricia A. Romes, 69, of Ottawa, passed away at 9:59 a.m., Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at The Meadows of Ottawa.  She was born March 9, 1954, in Lima to the late Henry and Mary Catherine (Wiechart) Kemper.

Survivors include three children: Brian (Lora) Romes of Findlay, Tina (Joe) Schreiber of Ottawa and Brent (Jason) Romes-Schwartz of Lima; three grandchildren: Shayla (Noah) Dugger, Chase Schreiber and Anika (Jacob Trehan) Schreiber; and eight siblings: Jan (Bill) Von Lehmden of Ottoville, Rita (Larry) Kreinbrink, Marcia Herring, both of Leipsic, Diane (Tom) Verhoff of Kalida, Karen (Ron) Bonifas of Landeck, Joe (Ruth) Kemper, Dave (Judy) Kemper, both of Ottoville and Beth (Jeff) Clay of Ft. Jennings.

She was also preceded in death by two grandchildren: Blake Romes and Blaine Romes; a brother-in-law, Dave Herring; a nephew, Wesley Bonifas and great-nephew, Damian Schmersal.

Patricia worked for The Meadows of Ottawa. She had also worked at Kohl's Market and Phillips in Ottawa. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa and former member of the Ottawa Fire Ladies. Patricia enjoyed cooking, traveling and shopping. Above all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and grand fur babies.

The family would like to thank the staff at The Meadows of Ottawa and The James Cancer Center, Columbus for their compassionate care of Patricia.

Funeral Mass will begin 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 3, 2024, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa with Fr. Scott Kramer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A rosary service will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday prior to the mass at the church.  Arrangements are under the direction of LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
