Patricia J. Meyer

LEIPSIC – Patricia J. Meyer, 92, of Leipsic, passed away at 3:43 a.m. on Thursday, June 20, 2024, at Mercy Health St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima. She was born December 12, 1931, in Leipsic to the late Gregory and Irene (Weisbecker) Schwab. On September 12, 1951, she married Melvin B. Meyer, who preceded her in death on August 17, 1999.

Survivors include five children: Steven (Karen) Meyer of Ottawa, Mark (Janet) Meyer of Leipsic, Gerald (Chris) Meyer of Ottawa, Tim (Karen) Meyer of Bellbrook and Gina (Tracy) Place of Dublin; 17 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Betty Gabringer of Centerville.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Holly Ann Meyer; a brother, John Schwab; a sister, Bonnie (Gene) Kuhlman; and a brother-in-law, Paul Gabringer.

Patricia retired as the ASP Clerk for St. Mary's School, Leipsic. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Leipsic and its Altar Rosary Society, C. L. of C, Leipsic Eagles Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary and Ohio Polka Boosters. She found joy in dancing and taught senior line dancing for 14 years known as the Golden Steppers and the Red Hot Steppers. Patricia served on the Brookhill Residential Board and Putnam County Association for Retarded Citizens. In 2006, she received the Outstanding Senior Citizen Award. Patricia loved going to casinos to gamble, playing cards and board games, bowling for over 40 years, shuffleboard with the Happy Shufflers and enjoyed participating in many activities at the Meadows of Leipsic.

Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 24, 2024, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Leipsic with Fr. George Wenzinger officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2 to 7 p.m. on Sunday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic and one hour prior to Mass on Monday at St. Mary's Parish Life Center, Leipsic.
