Paul A. German

GLANDORF - Paul A. German, 84, of Glandorf died 1:49 p.m., Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at Lima Memorial Health Systems.  He was born March 15, 1931 in Cloverdale to the late Isidore and Eleanor (Blankemeyer) German.  On August 9, 1951, he married Edna Schroeder.  She survives in Glandorf.

Also surviving are 4 children: Ginny (Larry) Meyer of Ottawa, Kathy (Rick) Croy of Lima, Steve (Tina) German of Loveland, and Deanna German (Ed Zawodny) of Perrysburg; 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and 1 on the way; and a sister:  Ruth Ann Maag of Ottawa.  Paul is preceded in death by a daughter:  Pamela German; 5 brothers:  Victor, Leonard, Ambrose, Robert and Karl German; and 4 sisters:  Lucinda Karcher, Agnes Harrison, Rita Phipps, and Mary Lou Stupak.

Paul retired in 1988 as Production Superintendent with Ford Motor Company, Lima.  He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf and its Holy Name Society.  He was a US Navy Airman veteran of the Korean Conflict, a life-member of the Ottawa American Legion, and a member of the Ottawa V.F.W.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 7, 2015 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf, with Father Tony Fortman officiating.  Following Mass there will be military rites by the Ottawa American Legion, V.F.W. and the Am Vets.  Burial will be in the church cemetery at a later date.  Visitation will be Friday from 2 to 8 p.m. at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa, where there will be a a VFW service at 7 p.m. and a parish rosary at 7:30 p.m.
