Paul E. Hermiller

KALIDA – Paul E. Hermiller, 89 of Kalida, passed away at 6:12 a.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at Lima Memorial Health Systems.  He was born July 1, 1932 in Miller City to the late William and Marie (Dulle) Hermiller.  On October 22, 1952, he married Mary Catherine "Katie" Pohl, she survives in Kalida.

Paul is also survived by a son: Gary A. Hermiller of Kalida; two granddaughters: Allison (Brayton) Schmitz of Kalida and Olivia Hermiller of Ottawa.

He is preceded in death by a great-grandson: Charlie Dean Schmitz; brothers: Bob (Cecelia) Hermiller, Tom (Joann) Hermiller, Bill (Rita) Hermiller Jr., August (Cecelia) Hermiller, Lawrence (Eleanor) Hermiller, infant brothers: Joe and Leonard Hermiller; and a sister: Virginia (Charles) Pester.

Paul was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Kalida. He was a life member of the Kalida K of C, Kalida Fish and Game, as well as the Columbus Grove American Legion.  Paul had worked at E.J. Meyer & Sons. He was a graduate of Miller City High School.  Paul was a U. S. Army Veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict.

Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Kalida with Father Mark Hoying officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military rites by Ottawa American Legion and VFW.  A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2 to 8 p.m., with a scripture service at 1:45 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 to 10 a.m. at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa.

Memorial donations may be made to Putnam County Home Care and Hospice, Area Agency on Aging 3, or Putnam County Council on Aging.
