Paul E. Michel

LEIPSIC – Paul E. Michel, 59, of Leipsic, passed away at 9:44 p.m. on Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at Bridge Hospice, Findlay. He was born on August 3, 1964, in Lima to the late Vincent and Mary Jane (Carnahan) Michel. On October 22, 1983, he married Lisa Knisley, who survives in Leipsic.

Other survivors include two children: Danielle Michel of Cincinnati and Meagan (Chelsea) Michel of Ottawa; four grandchildren; and four siblings: Mary Ann Groff of Findlay, Carol (John) Foor of Defiance, Dave (Karen) Michel of Knoxville and Janet (Roddy) Hopkins of Ottawa.

He was also preceded in death by two siblings: Ruth Rocha and Joey Michel; and a brother-in-law, Don Groff.

Paul was a locksmith for Toledo Correctional Institute and also worked part-time for the Leipsic Police Department. He served 23 years in the US Air Force and was a member of the Leipsic VFW.  Paul was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Cleveland Indians, made a mean smoked brisket, and loved spending time with his family and friends.

Funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, February 23, 2024 at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic. Burial will follow in Sugar Ridge Cemetery, Leipsic.  Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
