Obituary

Paul Lee Nuveman

OTTAWA – Paul Lee Nuveman, 78, of Ottawa, passed away Sunday, August 16, 2026 at The Meadows of Ottawa. He was born January 19, 1948, in Lima to the late Leander “Peewee” and Elizabeth “Betty” (Kuhlman) Nuveman. He married the late Barbara Elaine Evers on June 17, 1967 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Leipsic.

Survivors include two sons: Paul (Diane) Nuveman, Jr. of Maumee and Rodney (Michelle) Nuveman of Glandorf; two grandchildren: Brad (Kiersten) Nuveman of Ottawa and Stacey (Cameron Paugh) Nuveman of Galloway; a great grandchild, Oliver Paul Nuveman of Ottawa; and three brothers: Dave Nuveman of Ottawa, Roger (Linda) Nuveman of Leipsic and Dean (Jayne) Nuveman of Leipsic.

Paul worked as a laborer, truck driver, and heavy equipment operator for Made-Rite, E J Meyer & Sons, Degen Excavating, and Beaver Excavating. Paul enjoyed playing Solo with his card group buddies, making his rounds to sign up on Thursday nights, golfing, and was an avid Cleveland Indians fan.

Paul was a life member of the Operating Engineers Local 18, Ottawa Knights of Columbus, Leipsic Fraternal Order of Eagles, and the Leipsic VFW.

Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 22, 2026, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Leipsic with Fr. Randy Giesige officiating. Burial will follow in Sugar Ridge Cemetery, Leipsic. Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic and 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday prior to the Mass at St. Mary’s Parish Life Center, Leipsic.

Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
