Pauline E. Rigel

Leipsic - Pauline E. Rigel, 99, of Leipsic died 11:40 p.m. Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at The Meadows of Leipsic.  She was born July 18, 1917 in Hancock County to the late  Virgil E. and Hazel V. (Butler) Rader.  On November 30, 1940, she married Harold M. Rigel who died November 20, 1999.

Pauline is survived by 2 sons: Edward (Linda) Rigel and Roger D. (Marcia) Rigel both of Leipsic; 5 grandchildren: Troy (Christa) Rigel, Kristin (Steve) Bardall, Chad (Laura) Rigel, Tricia Rigel, and Ryan (Judy) Rigel; 12 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister: Bernice Aerni; and two brothers: Eugene and Leroy Rader.

Pauline was a dedicated teacher for 28 years.  She began her teaching career at Maumee City Schools for 2 years, Sylvania Exempted Village Schools for 2 years, and Leipsic Local Schools for 24 years where she retired.  She attended Bowling Green State University and was a member of New Hope Bethel Church in Leipsic, ORTA, ABC Club, and PORTA.  She was an avid fan of Ohio State and Leipsic Vikings.

Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 13, 2017 at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic with Rev. Ruth Carter-Crist officiating.  Burial will follow in Sugar Ridge Cemetery, Leipsic.  Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to the service Friday.
