Pauline M. Herd

CONTINENTAL – Pauline M. Herd, 96, of Continental, passed away at 12:49 a.m., Monday, October 7, 2024 at Mercy Health St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima. She was born October 13, 1927, in Goshen, IN to the late Joseph and Mary (Stanbaugh) Randolph. On February 21, 1943, she married, Virgil Herd, who preceded her in death on April 6, 1990.

Survivors include three children: Martha (Terry) Dotson of Continental, Jennifer Smith of Sherwood and Paula (Ed) Hull of Cloverdale; 16 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren with two on the way; and many great-great-grandchildren.

Pauline was preceded in death by a son, James Rippetoe; son-in-law, David Smith, Jr.; three grandsons: Dallas Dotson, Bill Collins and Jim Rippetoe; and five siblings.

Pauline worked for Durant Enterprise.  She was a member of Auglaize Chapel Church of God, Oakwood.

Funeral services will begin 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Continental with Pastor Amy Pauline Worline officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Dupont. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday and 9 to 10 a.m. on Wednesday prior to the service at the funeral home.
