Phyllis May Lloyd
CONTINENTAL - Phyllis May Lloyd, 91, of Continental died at 11:55 a.m. Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at The Meadows of Kalida. She was born November 19, 1922 in Continental to the late Edgar Ray and Helene Elizabeth (Eastman) Rockey. She had been married to Clifford Dale Peck. On February 15, 1964 she married Irvin "Doc" Lloyd who died September 24, 2010.
She is survived by 3 children: John (Barb) Peck of Continental, Phillip Peck of Eureka Springs, AK, and Suzanne (Kim) Okuley of Continental; 10 grandchildren: Rodney Peck, Brenda (Bill) Wolfle, Monica (Don) Capps, Maxie Hernandez, Dustin (Ashley) Peck, Phillip (Lisa) Peck, Jeremy Okuley, Nicholas (Theresa) Okuley, Megan (Brent) Bowen, and Dylan Okuley; 25 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; 2 brothers: Marvin (Betty Jo) Rockey of SanAntonio, TX and Randell Rockey of Silver City, New Mexico; and a sister-in-law: Mary Kay "Tommie" Rockey. She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter; 3 brothers: Delbert, Richard (Mary Jo), and Royal John Rockey; and 2 sisters: Virginia (Virgil) Cooper and Carol (George) Shirey.
Phyllis and her husband were owners of Doc's Hardware formerly of Continental. She was an active member of the Continental United Methodist Church, the Polly Anna Club, and the bowling league at Lucky Lanes. She loved to crochet, quilt (all her quilts were hand stitched by her) and enjoyed beautiful flowers and gardening. Phyllis was a great cook and loved watching sports on TV. She was a wonderful daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt who dearly loved her family.
Funeral services will be 12 noon on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at Continental United Methodist Church with Pastor Charles Schmunk officiating. Burial will be in Ice Cemetery, Auglaize Township. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday and from 10 a.m. until time of service on Tuesday, all at the church.
