Rachel Cervantes
Leipsic - Rachel Cervantes, 82 of Leipsic, passed away peacefully at 12:03 a.m. Saturday, August 1, 2015, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima, surrounded by four generations of family.  She was born July 14, 1933, in San Antonio, TX, to the late Ignacio Rivera and Juanita Garcia Rodriguez.  Rachel lived in Leipsic for the last 62 years.  She enjoyed sewing, reading, cooking, playing bingo, and her dog, Smokey.  Her endless energy, independent nature, and generosity will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Rachel  had 12 children with Joe R. Cervantes, Sr.: Andy (Kathy) Cervantes of Waxahachie, TX; Raquel Cervantes, deceased; Linda (John) De La Rosa of Fostoria; JoAnn (David) Bloom of Leipsic; Rose Marie Cervantes, deceased; David Cervantes of Hamler; Cindy (Randy) Bishop of Defiance; Joe (Melaine) Cervantes, Jr. of Middletown; Tina (Jerry) Jackson of Woodbridge, VA.; Richard, deceased (Shirley) Cervantes of Leipsic; Steven (Patricia) Cervantes of Glouster, and Michael Cervantes of Leipsic; 32 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren; three brothers:  Richard Rivera of Columbus, OH, Rick Rodriguez of Holland, MI, and Miguel Rodriguez of Holland, MI; and a sister:  Stella Baldazo of Ottawa.
Rachel was preceded in death by her life-partner, Sabino Tobar; two daughters; a son; a grandson: Taurean "TJ" Jackson, and great-granddaughter, Mika Andrea Hernandez; a brother: Arthur Rodriguez and three sisters: Minerva Garcia, Margarita Rivera and Juanita Nieto.
Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 4, 2015, at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic, with Pastor Darrell Davidson and Deacon Ben Valdez officiating.  Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Leipsic.  Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to the charity of the donor's choice.
