Ralph G. Ellerbrock

OTTAWA - Ralph G. Ellerbrock, 78, of Ottawa died at 7:43 p.m., Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima. He was born April 2, 1938 in Cloverdale to the late Harry and Martha (Meyer) Ellerbrock. On February 23, 1963 he married Joyce C. Martin who survives in Ottawa.

Also surviving are five children: Brenda (Dale Knueven) Ellerbrock of Decatur, IL, Mark (Paula) Ellerbrock of Sylvania, Ann (Rodney) Miller of Katy, TX, Paula Stanford of Rocky River, and Diana (Kevin) Scull of Redondo Beach, CA; four grandchildren: Jessica Miller, Danielle Miller, Alexandria Scull and Isabella Scull; two brothers: Arthur (Mary Lou) Ellerbrock of Glandorf and Norbert (Gloria) Ellerbrock of Ottawa; two sisters: Mary Ann Erhart of Ottawa and Millie (Bill) Kroeger of Venadocia; a sister-in-law: Martha Ellerbrock of Columbus Grove. He was also preceded in death by a brother: Elmer Ellerbrock; sister and brother-in-law: Luella and Donald Dickman; and a brother-in-law: Albert Erhart.

Ralph retired in 1992 from Marathon Oil Company, Findlay where he was a manager in the IT Department for many years. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa. He was a 4th degree member of the Ottawa Knights of Columbus and a life member of the Ottawa Eagles.  Ralph enjoyed gardening, genealogy, Polka music, technology, and traveling. He recently published four books on genealogy tracing back his and Joyce's family histories. Best of all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 16, 2016 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa with Fr. Matt Jozefiak officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Sunday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa where there will be a K of C Rosary at 7:30 p.m. and a scripture service at 7:50 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Covenant House for orphaned children or to the American Heart Association.
