Ralph E. Hammons

Cloverdale – Ralph E. Hammons, 92, of Cloverdale died 8:00 a.m. Friday, February 5, 2016 at the Meadows of Kalida.  He was born February 22, 1923 in Monterey Township, Putnam County to the late George and Elizabeth (Miller) Hammons.  On July 29, 1944 he married Frieda Hartwig, who survives.

Also surviving are his children:  Barbara (Everett) Guyton, Jerry (Vickey) Hammons and Kathy Kline, all of Cloverdale, Jim (Barb) Hammons of Holland; 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Ralph is preceded in death by 2 sisters:  Treva Plescher and Veva Shellabarger; 2 brothers:  Burnell Hammons and Doyle Hammons; and a son-in-law:  Dave Kline.

Ralph was a lifelong farmer and a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Briceton.

The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 8, 2016 at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township with Pastor Karen Stetins officiating.  Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery, Middle Point.  Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and again Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
