Randall M. “Randy” Schroeder
LEIPSIC – Randall M. “Randy” Schroeder, 70, of Leipsic, known as Rudy by friends and coworkers, passed away at 3:17 p.m., Sunday, February 8, 2026, at Mercy Health St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born April 21, 1955, in Lima to the late Ernest and Lucille (Laubenthal) Schroeder. On September 9, 1983, he married Miriam Sell, who survives in Ottawa. They were happily married for over 42 years.
Other survivors include two children: Zach (Katie) Schroeder of Findlay and Megan (Nathan) Ellerbrock of Ottawa; five grandchildren: Andersyn Schroeder, Eleanor Schroeder, Nora Ellerbrock, Nolan Ellerbrock and Eden Ellerbrock; two siblings: Les (Ginny) Schroeder and Nancy Walther; and a sister-in-law, Nancy Schroeder, Bill’s wife.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by three siblings: Dave (Marlene) Schroeder, Howard Schroeder and Bill Schroeder.
Randy worked for Campbell’s Soup, Napoleon as a Millwright and certified welder for over 30 years. He was a recent member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa and former member of Holy Family Catholic Church, New Cleveland. During his first battle with cancer, his Catholic faith became more prominent and he became more expressive about his faith. Randy was an avid dirt track racing enthusiast and spent over 20 years racing with his son. He loved barbecuing, metal fabrication and welding, camping with family and friends, hunting, fishing, taking trips to the coastline of Michigan and wintering in Florida with Miriam.
Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 13, 2026, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa with Fr. Scott Kramer officiating. Burial will follow in Holy Family Cemetery, New Cleveland. Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. on Thursday and again on Friday from 8:45 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa.
Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
