Regina E. Boehmer
FORT JENNINGS - Regina E. Boehmer, 92, of Fort Jennings died at 10:55 p.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at Vancrest of Delphos. She was born June 17, 1921 in Ottoville to the late William and Mary (Ricker) Gasser. On June 17, 1944 she married Leonard Boehmer who died October 6, 1974.
She is survived by 4 children: James (Mary) Boehmer of Fort Jennings, Mary Lou Hoersten of Ottoville, Suzanne (Robert) Trentman of Delphos, and Pamela Wagner of Fort Jennings; 11 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 1 brother: Robert (Dorothy) Gasser of  Ottoville; and 6 sisters: LaDonna Ostendorf and Leona (Len) Bruskotter both of Fort Jennings, Rita Miller of Warsaw, IN, Alvera (Gene) Kleman of Derby, KS., Mary Ann Grote and Delores (Tony) Schulte both of Kalida. She was also preceded in death by 2 sons: Daniel and Joseph Boehmer; 2 grandchildren: Blaine and Brenda Hoersten; a son-in-law: Robert "Bob" Hoersten; 2 brothers: Art and Bill Gasser; and 4 sisters: Anna Knippen, Dorothy Osting, Agnes Knippen, and LaVera Hanf. Regina was a seamstress and a homemaker. She had worked for her brothers at the Old Fort in Fort Jennings. Regina was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fort Jennings and its Rosary Altar Society and a member of the Fort Jennings American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 9, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fort Jennings with Fr. Charles Obinwa officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Sunday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township and one hour prior to the mass at church on Monday. Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church Building Fund.
