Regina Mary Scheckelhoff

OTTAWA – Regina Mary Scheckelhoff, 91, of Ottawa, passed away at 11:28 p.m. on Saturday, August 3, 2024 at The Meadows of Ottawa.  She was born May 5, 1933, in New Bavaria to the late Adam and Alfreda (Eiden) Westrick. On May 7, 1955, she married Earl F. Scheckelhoff, who preceded her in death on October 7, 2023.

She is survived by four children: Ronald (MaryAnne) Scheckelhoff of Cary, NC, Steve (Colleen) Scheckelhoff, Lori (Nick) Rosselit and Lynn (Kevin) Wischmeyer, all of Ottawa; 22 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren with three on the way; a brother, Raymond (Kathy) Westrick of Ayersville; and two sisters-in-law: Wilma Radabaugh and Mary Scheckelhoff, both of Ottawa.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers: Delbert (Marilyn) Westrick and Vincent (Joan) Westrick.

Regina was a homemaker and former bookkeeper for the family business, Village Queen Laundromat. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa, its Altar Rosary Society and C.L. of C.  Regina was a very devout Catholic and started Eucharistic Adoration at the church. She loved flowers, especially begonias, gardening, painting, ceramics, polka dancing, family gatherings and spending time with friends and family.

Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 9, 2024 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa with Fr. Scott Kramer officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday and 9 to 9:45 a.m. on Friday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa. A scripture service will begin at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
