Richard C. Bishop
DESHLER - Richard C. Bishop, 89, of Deshler died at 8:15 a.m. Friday, October 24, 2014 at Oak Grove Healthcare Center in Deshler. He was born June 7, 1925 in Deshler to the late Wiley George and Leola (Fruchey) Bishop.
He is survived by a brother: Melvin (Margaret) Bishop of Hamler; a brother-in-law: Roy Hampshire of Auburn, IN; and many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by 3 brothers: Robert (Judith) Bishop, James Bishop, and Marvin (Louise) Bishop and a sister: Patricia Hampshire.
Richard worked for Christman Brothers in Deshler. He graduated in 1945 from Hamler High School. He was a US Army veteran of WWII, a member of Hamler American Legion #262, and a life member of Leipsic Eagles #2793. Richard attended the former United Methodist Church in Belmore.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 27, 2014 at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic with Pastor Mark Bishop officiating. Burial will follow in Sugar Ridge Cemetery with military rites by Hamler American Legion. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home. Donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
