Richard J. Brickner

Ottawa - Richard J. Brickner, 93, of Ottawa died 10:40 a.m., Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at Hilty Memorial Nursing Home, Pandora.  He was born October 22, 1923 in New Cleveland to the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Heuerman) Brickner.  He married Marcella Unterbrink who died December 10, 1981.

Richard is survived by his children: Ronald (Nadra) Brickner of Jasper, GA, Dennis (Mildred) Brickner of Glandorf, Paul (Maryellen) Brickner of Ottawa, David (Teresa) Brickner of Toledo, Kenneth (Norma) Brickner of Ottawa, Ruth Ann (Joseph) Donaldson of Columbus Grove, Robert  (Vicki) Brickner of Glandorf, Linda (David) Brinkman of Ottawa; 31 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.  He is also preceded in death by six brothers: Lawrence, Alfred, Clete, Clem, Joe, Linus Brickner; two sisters: Margaret Phillips and Marie Drummelsmith; a granddaughter, Jennifer Sugg and a great-grandchild, Logan Brickner.

Richard retired from GTE Sylvania .  He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa; Ottawa's Knights of Columbus and Ottawa's Eagles.  He was an Army veteran of WWII.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, September 1, 2017 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa, with Fr. Matt Jozefiak officiating.  Burial will follow in church cemetery with military rites by Ottawa's American Legion, VFW and Amvets.  Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa where a scripture service will be at 7:50 p.m..
