Richard L. "Dick" Lentz CONTINENTAL – Richard L. "Dick" Lentz, 81, of Continental, passed away at 5:16 p.m. on Monday, December 9, 2024, at Mercy Health St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima. He was born May 15, 1943, in Defiance to the late Reno and Oma (Halbgewoks) Lentz. On July 31, 1965, he married Janis Shisler, who survives in Continental. Richard is also survived by two children: Jana Lentz and Richard Lentz II, both of Continental; a sister, Kay (Dave) Kimmel of Middlebury, IN; and several nieces and nephews. Richard was a 1961 graduate of Continental High School and retired lifelong farmer. He was a 40 year member of the Continental Fire Department. Richard was also a former board member of the Putnam County Cattlesman Association, former Director of the Farmers Elevator and a former Monroe Township Trustee. He attended Continental United Methodist Church. Funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 12, 2024 at HEITMEYER FUNERL HOME, Continental with Rev. Chuck Schmunk and Pastor Monica Kleman officiating. Burial will follow in North Mt. Zion Cemetery, Continental. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday and 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Continental Fire Department.
