Richard Haselman

LEIPSIC – Richard L. Haselman, 94, of Leipsic, passed away at 10:29 a.m. on Friday, April 12, 2024, at the Meadows of Kalida.  He was born July 31, 1929, in Leipsic to the late Joseph and Rose (Schroeder) Haselman.  On November 5, 1952, he married Edna V. Sehlhorst, she preceded him in death on January 8, 2022.

Richard is survived by four children:  Barbara (Bruce) Stephens of Columbus Grove; Michael (Deb) Haselman of Ottawa, Keith (Beverly) Haselman, and Beverly (Kevin) Niese both of Leipsic; a daughter-in-law:  Christina Haselman of Leipsic; thirteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren, and two on the way.

He is preceded in death by a son, Charles D. Haselman; and seven siblings.

Richard was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Leipsic, and the Ottawa K of C.  He had retired from farming.  Richard was also a member of the Ohio Farm Bureau.

The family would like to thank St. Rita's Staff, Putnam County Hospice, and especially the staff of the Meadows of Kalida for the excellent care of their dad.

Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Leipsic with Fr. Randy Giesige officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  A visitation will be held on Monday from 3 to 8 p.m. at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic and again on Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
