Richard H. Hoyt
OTTAWA - Richard H. Hoyt, 80, of Ottawa died 10:19 a.m., Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at Putnam County Ambulatory Center, Glandorf. He was born December 14, 1934 in Miller City to the late Charles and Dorothy (Ellerbrock) Hoyt. On November 14, 1956, he married Marie Edelbrock and she survives in Ottawa.
Also surviving is a son Norman (Beth) Hoyt of Ottawa; a daughter-in-law, Brenda Hoyt Brackman (Jim Brackman) of Findlay; 4 grandchildren: Molly Hoyt, Ian Hoyt, Paige Hoyt and Zach Hoyt; brother's and sisters: Dennis (Carol) Hoyt of Columbus Grove, Shirley (Alvin "Bud") Duling of Ottawa, John (Virginia) Hoyt of Cridersville, Charles (Laura) Hoyt of Ruskin, FL, Louanne Miller of Columbus, Janet Kirby of Columbus, and Patricia (Dennis) Pollock of Van Wert; and a sister-in-law: JoAnne Hoyt of Columbus Grove.
He was preceded in death by a son: Douglas Hoyt; 3 brothers: Donald Hoyt, Tom Hoyt and Eugene Hoyt; a sister: Geraldine Lauer; and a brother-in-law: George Miller.
Richard retired from Ford Motor Company, Lima in Skilled Trades. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa and the Ottawa American Legion. He was a graduate of Columbus Grove High School and served in the US Army. He enjoyed doing the things that needed to be done and especially spending time with the grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian burial will begin 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 23, 2014 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa with Fr. Matt Jozefiak officiating. Burial will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Glandorf with military rites by the Ottawa VFW, American Legion and Amvets. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Thursday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa.
Memorial donations may be made to Sts. Peter and Paul School.
