Richard J. Martz

DUBLIN - Richard J. Martz, 72, of Dublin, formerly of Ottoville, died at 6:15 p.m. on February 22, 2021 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus.  He was born December 12, 1948 in Lima to the late Cornell and Loretta (Brinkman) Martz.  On April 7, 1973 he married Susan Nartker, she survives in Dublin.

Richard is also survived by two children: Krista (Matt) Pohlman and Brad (Keri) Martz, both of Powell; three grandchildren: Avery and Reese Pohlman, and Camryn Martz; two sisters: Ann Martz of New Jersey, Elizabeth Schrauf of Norwalk; and sister-in-law: Dianne (Brian) Bass of St. Louis, MO.

He is preceded in death by two brothers, James and Robert Martz

Richard was an Army veteran.  He retired from Dana Corporation. He loved watching Ohio State Football and basketball. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was also an avid Cincinnati Reds fan.  Richard enjoyed golfing and fishing.

Funeral mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville with Father Jerome Schetter officiating.  Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ottoville.  In keeping with the social distancing guidelines, a visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church.  Masks will be required upon entering the church.  Arrangements are under the direction of LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township.
