Obituary

Richard Wolford

LEIPSIC – Richard Wolford, 75, of Leipsic, passed away at 8:10 p.m., Sunday, August 16, 2026, at The Meadows of Leipsic. He was born December 10, 1950, in Findlay to the late Hollis and Mary Lou (Basye) Wolford. On September 25, 1976, he married Pamela Schey, who survives in Leipsic.

Richard is also survived by two children: Elaina (Derrick Niese) Wolford of Leipsic and Brandon (Brittany) Wolford of Lexington, KY.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, Ryan Wolford; and two brothers: Stephen Wolford and Randy Wolford.

Richard was a 1969 graduate of McComb High School. He retired from General Motors, Defiance. After retirement, he worked for Radio Shack and also drove bus for The Meadows of Leipsic. He was an avid McComb Panther fan, loved classic rock, and enjoyed going to concerts and spending time with family and friends. He had a warm, welcoming spirit, never met a stranger, and was a friend to everyone.

Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 21, 2026, at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic with Pastor Doug Kendrick officiating. Burial will follow in McComb Union Cemetery, McComb. Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. on Thursday and 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of The Meadows of Leipsic for the compassionate care they provided Richard.

Memorial donations may be made to the Putnam County Dog Shelter, Ottawa or Putnam County Hospice.
