Richard A. Wolke

OTTAWA - Richard A. Wolke, 92, of Ottawa died 6:04 p.m., Saturday, January 16, 2021 at The Meadows of Kalida.  He was born August 15, 1928 in Putnam County to the late Edward and Leona (Becker) Wolke.  On September 2, 1950, he married Norma R. Hoehn.  She died February 2, 2006.

Survivors include five children: Dennis Wolke of Glandorf, Alan (Lisa Langhals) Wolke of Ottawa, Sharon (Gerald) Bugbee of Millbury, Joyce (Jeff) Loehrke of Ottawa and Sandy Brinkman of Ottawa; fifteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and a brother Tom (Rosemary) Wolke of Glandorf.

He was also preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Kennedy Kohls; a daughter-in-law, Lucinda Wolke; a son-in-law Tony Brinkman; and two sisters: Jane (William) Kuhlman and Donna (Norman) Recker.

Richard retired from Louisiana Pacific, formerly of Ottawa and was a carpenter.  He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa, Ottawa Eagles, and a social member of the Ottawa VFW.  Richard loved to fish, hunt, bake pies and dance.  He was known to his family and friends as Big Daddy and to his grandchildren as Papa Cookie.

Funeral mass will begin at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Fr. Scott Kramer officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Masks are required in the church.   Due to Covid-19, there will be no public visitation.
