Rick G. Shisler

OAKWOOD – Rick G. Shisler, 63, of Oakwood, passed away at 6:21 p.m., Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Defiance Inpatient Hospice. He was born April 25, 1962, in Lima to the late Nolan “Tucker” and LaDonna (Dimmock) Shisler.

He is survived by a brother, Nick Shisler of Oakwood; an uncle, Jack Shisler of Oakwood; and many cousins and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Brian Shisler.

Rick was a 1980 graduate of Paulding High School. He worked for General Motors, Defiance, as well as Derk Construction and was a member of the Carpenter’s Union. Rick was a very talented carpenter and wood craftsman. He enjoyed rehabbing homes in Oakwood with his dad and also cherished the time he spent refinishing furniture and antiques with his mom.

Funeral service will begin at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, January 24, 2026, at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Oakwood with Cheri Estle officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Chapel Cemetery, Oakwood. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers or funeral memorabilia, donations may be made to the Village of Oakwood for the park.
