Rita A. Bellmann

KALIDA – Rita A. Bellmann, 88, of Kalida, passed away on Thursday, December 25, 2025, at her home. She was born April 21, 1937, in Lima to the late Alphonse and Lucinda (Verhoff) Laudick. On October 13, 1956, she married William Bellmann, he preceded her in death on April 15, 2013.

Rita is survived by five children: Tom (Dana) Bellmann of Kalida, Carolyn (Jeff) Riepenhoff of Miller City, Ann (Alan Eickholt) Rayle, Dan “Red” Bellmann and Kenny (Gale) Bellmann, all of Kalida; a daughter-in-law: Joan Bellmann; thirteen grandchildren; twenty nine great-grandchildren; a sister: Alice (Jerry) Schroeder of Wadsworth; two sisters-in-law: Marie Laudick and Elaine Laudick, both of Kalida.

Along with her husband, she is preceded in death by a son, Paul Bellmann; and two brothers: Don Laudick and Jim Laudick.

Rita was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Kalida, as well as the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Continental. In later years, Rita babysat in her home, and those children and families have remained close over the years. Rita loved her family. She was always up for playing cards and having everyone over for family gatherings.

Funeral Mass will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 29, 2025, at St. Michael Catholic Church, Kalida with Fr. Phil Smith officiating. Burial will be held at St. Isadore Cemetery, Cuba at a later date. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 2 to 8 p.m. and again on Monday from 11:30 to 12:30 p.m. at LOVE HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township.
