Rita M. Pierman
OTTAWA – Rita M. Pierman, 90, of Ottawa, died 10:03 a.m. Sunday, December 15, 2013 at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima. She was born October 24, 1923 in Ottawa to the late Charles and Dorothy (Lammers) Kerner. On July 3, 1943 she married George Pierman, who died November 18, 1996.
Rita is survived by her 7  children: Jane (Michael) Lomont of New Haven, IN, David (Del) Pierman of Turtletown, TN, Margie (Tom) Mottinger of Elizabeth, CO, Kathy (Don) Green of Ottawa, Barbara (Larry) Luff of Batesville, IN, George "Don" (Deb Nuveman) Pierman of Ottawa, and Sam Pierman of Lima; 20 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren: and sisters: Edna Gerdeman of Ottawa, and Mary Jane Black of Orange, CA. She was also preceded in death by twin sons: Peter and Charles; sisters: Marcella Swary, Elizabeth "Hon" Wehinger, Lenore Swary, Julia Westerman, Ruth Mayberry; and a brother: Clarence Kerner.
Rita was a homemaker. She was a member of the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa and its Altar Rosary Society and a graduate of SPPS High School. She loved and lived a very independent life, in which she actively played cards in 5 different card clubs, and kept current with all of her many family members.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 19, 2013 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa with Fr. Matt Jozefiak and Fr. Tony Fortman officiating.  Burial will follow in Harman Cemetery, Gilboa.   Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME,  Ottawa where there will be a rosary at 8:00 p.m..
