Robert A. "Bob" Schroeder

LEIPSIC – Robert A. "Bob" Schroeder, 74, of Leipsic, passed away 9:02 a.m., Thursday, October 6, 2022 at his residence surrounded by family.  He was born January 24, 1948 in Lima to the late Hubert and Loretta (Niese) Schroeder. On March 22, 1969, he married Mary Haselman, who survives in Leipsic.

Also surviving are two children: Jason Schroeder and Lori Schroeder, both of Leipsic; two brothers: Thomas (Sharon) Schroeder of Delphos and Paul Schroeder of Leipsic; and his beloved dog, Charlie.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, James Schroeder and sister-in-law, Mary Schroeder.

Bob was a lifelong farmer and drove bus for Leipsic Local Schools, retiring after 20 dedicated years. He had also worked as past president of St. Vincent DePaul Society, Leipsic Chapter. Bob was a U.S. Navy veteran during the Vietnam War and a member of Leipsic St. Mary's Catholic Church, Leipsic Eagles, Leipsic VFW, AMVETS and Ottawa Knights of Columbus. Bob loved to collect and build toy tractors. He also did custom backhoe work and was known as "Backhoe Bob."  Bob was an adoring husband, loving father and a good friend to everyone he met.

Funeral Mass will begin 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 10, 2022 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Leipsic with Father Randy Giesige officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military rites by the Leipsic American Legion and VFW.  Visitation will be from 2 – 8 p.m. on Sunday, October 9, 2022 at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic and Monday one hour prior to Mass at St. Mary's Parish Life Center, Leipsic. A scripture service will be said at 1:45 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made for masses to be said at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Leipsic or the family's wishes.
