Robert L. Bair

MELROSE – Robert L. Bair, 87, of Melrose, died at 3:50 a.m. on Sunday, January 9, 2022 at CHP Hospice, Defiance.  He was born December 31, 1934 in Melrose to the late Austin and Marguerite (Stahl) Bair.  On August 7, 1954, he married Patricia Johnson, she preceded him in death on October 7, 2011.

Robert is survived by six children: Cathy (Kevin) Eitniear, Brad (Tabbie) Bair, Karen (David) Thomas, Robert II (Teresa) Bair, Deanna (Bud) Adkins, and Debbie Hughes; eleven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren.

He is also preceded in death by a daughter, Vicki Bair; granddaughter, McKenzie; grandson, Jacob; son-in-law, Jimmy Hughes; brother, Charles Bair; two sisters, Betty Sherry and Joyce Estle.

Robert worked as a fuel truck driver for Ottawa Oil Company.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 14, 2022 at Auglaize Chapel Church of God, Oakwood with Rev. Stan Harmon officiating.  Burial will follow in Little Auglaize Cemetery, Melrose.

A visitation will be held on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Oakwood, and again on Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.
