Robert G. Bland OAKWOOD – Robert Glen "Smokey" Bland, 63, of Oakwood, passed away Monday, December 23, 2024, at his home.  He was born October 23, 1961, in Paulding to the late William and Betty (Williams) Bland.  On November 25, 1984, he married Marsha Goings, she survives in Oakwood. Robert also leaves behind a son: Alex; a daughter: Jerika; two granddaughters: Jordyn and Teagan; a grandson: Brayden; and a sister: Sheila (Ed) Merriman; among many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Wesley, and a sister, Wendy. Robert served 3 years in the U.S. Navy before meeting his wife, Marsha.  In his earlier years he enjoyed both coaching and umpiring Little League baseball and softball.  He also enjoyed fishing and playing cards with his friends and family. No services will be held.  Arrangements are under the direction of HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Oakwood. Memorial donations may be made to the family or a charity of the donor's choice.
