Robert L. "Bob" Cox

OTTAWA - Robert L. "Bob" Cox, 73 of Ottawa died at 2:34 p.m. Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at OSU Medical Center, Columbus. He was born July 29, 1945 in Ottawa to the late Frank and Lily Mae (Frey) Cox. On June 27, 1964 he married Jean Sands and she survives in Ottawa.

Also surviving are 4 children, Robert (Connie) Cox, Jr. of Ottawa, Ronnie (Sherri) Cox of Browns Mills, NJ, Tam (Colyn) Bacon of Raleigh, NC, and Chris (Roger) Hosler of Ottawa; 11 grandchildren, Aaron (Traci) Cox, Brianna (Andy) Kuhlman, Taylor (Jarod) Kimmel, Danielle (Ross) Ellerbrock, Brittany Cox, Ronald Cox, Jr., Derek (Darryl Hill) Cox, Kaitlyn Bacon, Dustin (Dani) Cox, Cory (Molly Conroy) Hosler, and Daulton (Joleen Combs) Hosler; 9 great-grandchildren and one on-the-way; a brother, James (Janet) Cox of Findlay; and 2 sisters-in-law, Dortha Cox of Ottawa and Mona Cox of Lima. He was also preceded in death by 3 brothers, John Cox, Wilfred Cox, and Donald (Ilo) Cox; and 7 sisters, Zelma (Robert) Dickey, Marie (Orville) Dickey, Thelma (Don) Hardwick, Mary (Wayne) Patrick, Ella Mae (John) Hazelton, Betty (Walter) Titus and Nancy Cox.

Bob retired after 35 years from General Motors in Defiance. He enjoyed his morning gang at McDonalds, bowling, fishing, and playing cards. Bob especially loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 5, 2019 at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa with Pastor Denny Coates officiating. Burial will follow in Harman Cemetery, Gilboa. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
