Robert G. Geise
FORT JENNINGS – Robert G. Geise, 86, of Fort Jennings died at 4:48 a.m., Thursday, March 30, 2023 at Mercy Health St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima. He was born on November 13, 1936 in Delphos, to the late Sylvester and Rose (Johnson) Geise. On July 13, 1957, he married Beatrice (Ricker) Geise, who survives.
They were blessed with six children: Steve (Ann) of Delta, Scott (Bernetta) of Fort Jennings, Mike (Michelle) of Fort Wayne, Judy Farrell of Kalida and Jennifer (Dave) Hovest, of Kalida, and Dave (deceased); other survivors include fourteen grandchildren: Ashley (Matt) Crossman, Emily (Nate) Miller, Joe Geise, Daniel Geise, Amanda (Chris) Stegner, Nikki (Kole) Busche, Nate (Elyse) Geise, Derek Geise, Tyler Geise, Megan Geise, Sydney King, Chase King, Andy (Kendra) Recker, Colton Farrell, Sarah Hovest, Gabe Hovest, Camille Hovest, Audra Hovest, and Kalvin Hovest; great-grandchildren: McKinley, Coulby, Weston, William, Braylen, Jocelyn, Maysen, Haven, Kason, Alexis, Kaylee, Aria, and Lenyx; siblings: Helen Kimmett and Leo (Norma) Geise, both of Delphos.
He is preceded in death by his son, Dave; a sister, Alice (Hubert) Youngpeter; brothers, John (Polly) Geise and Louis Geise; and a brother-in-law, James Kimmett.
Bob was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fort Jennings, where he was blessed to serve as a Eucharistic Minister, and being a volunteer lay distributor of the Eucharist for 15 years at Mercy Health St. Rita's Medical Center meant so much to him. He retired as a tool maker from General Dynamics.
Funeral Mass will begin at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fort Jennings with Fr. Charles Obinwa officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Fort Jennings. A visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township and again on Saturday one hour prior to the Mass at the church. Memorial donations may be given to a charity of the donor's choice.
Bob's family would like to thank Father Charles, the entire medical staff at Mercy Heath St. Rita's Medical Center, and the Ottoville EMS for extraordinary care, he was blessed by all of you.
