Robert L. Kaufman

LEIPSIC - Robert L. Kaufman, 80, of Leipsic, died at 10:17 a.m. Thursday, October 28, 2021 at his residence. He was born July 5, 1941 in Lima and was one of the eight children of the late David J. and Rita M. (Compton) Kaufman. He married Naomi Marie Forrest on March 24, 1962 in Napoleon.  She passed away in November 1984.  He then married Arlene F. Geise-Frantom in October 1989.  She preceded him in death in August 2013.

Robert was also preceded in death by brothers, David Kaufman, Jr. and Carl Kaufman; and sisters, Drothy Kaufman, Elsie Zachrich and JoAnn Walker; children, Christina, Terri, Debbie and Larry Kaufman and Tom and Doren Frantom.

He leaves behind a brother, Willis Kaufman; sister, Doris Winkle; children, Robin (Aaron) Fox, Earnest (Teresa) Kaufman and Kenneth Kaufman; 5 step-children, Faye Fortenberry, Loren (Johnanna) Frantom, Jeff Frantom, Marty (Renee) Frantom and Aaron (Sarah) Frantom.  Robert had 33 grandchildren; 48+ great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

Robert drove tow motor for Campbell Soup Company, Napoleon and retired after 40+ years. He was also and auxiliary police officer and worked weekends at Sohio BP.  He even did a brief stint as a semi truck driver when Campbell's was on strike.

The funeral service for Robert will be 5:00 p.m. Monday, November 1, 2021 at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic with Pastor Jill Brecht officiating.  Burial will be in Union Cemetery, McComb at a later date.  Visitation will be Monday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
