Robert J. Maag

GLANDORF – Robert J. Maag, 75, of Glandorf died 3:12 a.m. Sunday, November 13, 2022 at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay.  He was born August 25, 1947 in Greensburg Township to the late Richard and Mary Donelda "Nellie" (Sager) Maag.  On August 28, 1971 he married Rita B. Michel, who preceded him in death on November 15, 2020.

Robert is survived by 5 children:  Amy (Joseph) Vance of Pioneer, Anthony Maag of Glandorf, Anita (Jeffrey) Lindeman of Delphos, Audrey (David) Mueller of Findlay and Angela (Michael) Johnson of Delphos; 11 grandchildren:  Katlyn (Kalib) Craig, Alex Maag, Jasmine Maag, Baylee (Brett) Vonderwell, Trent Lindeman, Emma Lindeman, Hannah Mueller, Caleb Mueller, Ben Mueller, Nathan Johnson, and Garret Johnson; 2 step-grandsons:  Justin Vance and JR Vance; 3 great-grandchildren; 10 siblings:  Mary Kay (Larry) Gearig of Swanton, Daniel (Fritz) Maag of Columbus Grove, Kenneth (Karen) Maag of Ottawa, Gary (Joyce) Maag of Glandorf, Betty (Greg) Leap of Ottawa, Susie (Bob Barnt) Butcher of Elida, Richard (Jo Ann) Maag of Haines City, FL, Barb (Steve) Walker of Ottawa, Cindy (Jim) Ricker of Leipsic, and Thomas (Vicki) Maag of Glandorf; and a sister-in-law, Pat Maag of Ottawa.

He is preceded in  death by an infant daughter:  Theresa Maag, and 2 brothers:  John Maag and Charles Maag.

Robert was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf.  He retired from Cooper Tire and Rubber Company, Findlay.  He was a Navy veteran of Vietnam.  He was active in his community and served as president of the Kalida School Board for 7 years, was a member of the Kalida K of C and a 4th Degree Knight of the Ottawa K of C.  He also enjoyed being a member of the Ottawa Eagles, Miller City 300 Club and Continental American Legion.

The funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, November 17, 2022 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf with Father Matt Keller officiating.  Burial will follow in St. Isidore Cemetery, Cuba with military rites by the Ottawa American Legion, VFW and AMVETS.  Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and again from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday at the LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa.  There will be a scripture service 1:45 p.m. and a K of C Rosary at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
