Robert B. Reed
OTTAWA - Robert B. Reed, 85, of Ottawa died at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at The Meadows at Putnam Acres, Ottawa. He was born January 25, 1928 in Van Wert to the late Bruce H. and Frances (Gamble) Reed. In February of 1951 he married Mary P. Shiveley who survives in Ottawa.
Also surviving are 5 children: Gregory (Christine) Reed of Roanoke, VA., Elaine (Rodney) Gertsen of Cairo, Dave (Demita) Reed of Sulphur Springs, TX., Diane Young of Ft. Jennings, and John (Linda) Reed of Carrollton, TX.; 14 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and a brother: John (Jane) Reed of Columbus. He was also preceded in death by a son: Alan Reed and a grandson: Christopher Avery.
Robert was retired from Philips in Ottawa and was a U.S. Army veteran during the Korean Conflict. He was a former member of the Ray Coleson Orchestra and the Village Idiots. He enjoyed spending time at Indian Lake with his family and friends and loved to tinker with things.
There will be a private burial. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the O-G Locker Room Fund.
