Robert "Bob" L. Scarbrough
Grover Hill -- Robert "Bob" L. Scarbrough, 84, of Grover Hill, died 2:49 a.m., Saturday, September 5, 2015, at St. Rita's Medical Center. He was born December 2, 1930, in Grover Hill, to the late Lawrence and Pearl (Saums) Scarbrough. On July 11, 1997 he married Rosemary Daeger Price, who survives in Grover Hill.
Bob is survived by three children: Sandra (Steve) Stecker of Mindoro, Wisconsin, Sue (Ed) Doster of Broughton, Mike Scarbrough of Wren; five step-children: Patty (Dick) Lehman of Grover Hill, Roger (Karen) Price of Van Wert, Barbara Stork of Defiance, Larry (Helene) Price of Louisiana, Kathy (Terry) Thatcher of Van Wert; 3 grandchildren; 13 step grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 36 step great-grandchildren and 2 step great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother: Frank Scarbrough; and a sister: Jane Oakley.
Bob was retired from the Dana Corporation division in Antwerp. He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, a lifetime member of Antwerp VFW post #5087, and enjoyed sharing his military stories. He liked to polka dance and listen to music, as well as work in the garden and play cards with friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday September 8, 2015, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville, with Fr. Jerome Schetter officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military rites by the Antwerp VFW. Visitation will be Monday, from 2 to 8 p.m. at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Twp.
