Robert A. Schroeder

New Cleveland -- Robert A. Schroeder, 79 of New Cleveland died 2:55 p.m. Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at his residence.  He was born October 31, 1937 to the late Urban F. and Esther (Ellerbrock) Schroeder.  On November 8, 1958 he married Rosemary Lammers, who survives in New Cleveland.

Also surviving are his children:  Leo (Annette) Schroeder of Miller City, Roger (Linda) Schroeder of Leipsic, Leroy (Lisa) Schroeder, Richard (Carmella) Schroeder and Marlene (Daryl) Maag, all of New Cleveland and Mary Lou (Rick) Herman of Glandorf; 13 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren and 2 brothers:  John (Janet) Schroeder of Ottawa and Carl (Jan) Schroeder of Florida; and 3 sisters:  Mildred Schulte of Continental, Clara Cavanaugh of New Cleveland and Eileen Niese of Leipsic.

He is preceded in death by 4 brothers:  Gerald, Eugene, Daniel and Bernard Schroeder; and 2 sisters:  Irene Conklin and Dorothy Mayes.

He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, New Cleveland and retired from Allied Egry, Leipsic.  Robert was a member of the Miller City Sportsmen's Club, the Leipsic Eagles and the Ottawa K. of C.  He enjoyed throwing horseshoe, playing cards, fishing and the Cleveland Indians.  He loved woodworking and tinkering in his shop.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Holy Family Catholic Church, New Cleveland with Father Stephen Schroeder officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be Friday from 2 to 8 p.m. at the LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa where a scripture service will be held at 1:45 p.m.
