Robert P. Von Sossan

FORT JENNINGS -- Robert P. Von Sossan, 77, of Fort Jennings died 10:31 a.m. Saturday, December 16, 2017 at his residence.  He was born May 7, 1940 to the late Joseph and Ligouri (Wittler) Von Sossan.  He was formerly married to the late Euletta Horstman, who died January 12, 2017.

Robert is survived by 3 daughters:  Charlotte (Joe Vorst) Elling, Brenda (Chris Slone) Von Sossan, and Sabrina Von Sossan, all of Fort Jennings; 2 grandchildren:  Fayth Elling and Matthew Elling; a great-granddaughter:  Evee Ohman; 4 brothers:  Kenneth (Marge) Von Sossan, John (Phyllis) Von Sossan, James (Normie) Von Sossan, and Dan (Sandy) Von Sossan, all of Fort Jennings; 2 sisters:  Kay (Karl) Kennedy of Fort Jennings and Joanne Von Sossan of Huber Heights and his grand-dogs:  Oliver and Gapper.

He is preceded in death by his beloved dachshund, Roxie.

Robert was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fort Jennings.  He retired from Von Sossan Contracting after 43 years of service and was a lifelong farmer.  He was a veteran of the Army National Guard and a member of the Fort Jennings American Legion Post #715.  He loved to hunt, garden and go on farm tours.  He was also a former volunteer fireman for Fort Jennings.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Charles Obinwa officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township and again Tuesday for one hour prior to the service at the church.
