Robert Henry Warnecke

KALIDA – Robert Henry Warnecke, 89, of Kalida, died at 10:14 a.m., Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at The Meadows of Kalida.  He was born January 20, 1935, in Putnam County to the late Urban and Agnes (Meyer) Warnecke.  On October 8, 1960, he married Carolyn Brickner.  She died June 28, 2023.

Survivors include four children: Randy (Myra) Warnecke, Rick Warnecke, both of Kalida, Kimberly (Gary) Ellerbrock of Glandorf and Kevin Warnecke of Kalida; four grandchildren: Andrew Warnecke of Columbus, Kassie Warnecke of Boston, MA, Kristen Ellerbrock and Kerri Ellerbrock, both of Glandorf; two sisters: Betty Borgelt of Shelby and Margie (Raleigh) Forsthoefel of Celina; and a sister-in-law, Sue Warnecke of Lima.

He was also preceded in death by three brothers: Art Warnecke, Wilfred (Margaret) Warnecke and Don Warnecke; a sister, Alice (Bernie) Wolke; and a brother-in-law, Jim Borgelt.

Bob retired in 1997 as a heavy equipment operator for EJ Meyer and Sons.  He was veteran in the Army National Guard.  Bob was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Kalida and its Holy Name Society, Ohio Operators Union, charter member of Kalida Fish and Game Club, Ottawa Eagles and Kalida Knights of Columbus.

Funeral mass will begin 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 3, 2024, at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Kalida with Fr. Nathan Bockrath officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. at the church.  Arrangements are under the direction of LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township.
