Roger Lee E. Verhoff
CONTINENTAL - Roger Lee E. Verhoff, 60, of Continental, died at 3:22 p.m. Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at Lima Memorial Hospital. He was born October 16, 1954 in Lima, to the late Leonard J. and Dolores L. (Wolke) Verhoff. On September 8, 1973 he married Dorothy Weis, who survives in Continental.
He is survived by 4 children: Christine (Craig) Siebeneck of Kalida, Steven (Martha) Verhoff of Maysville, NC, Andrea (Eric) Tigner of Grover Hill, and Martin Verhoff of Continental; 6 grandchildren: Caleb and Cameron Siebeneck, Sean and Amanda Verhoff, and Tatum and Brooke Tigner; 8 brothers and sisters: Elaine (Jack) Ewald of West Union, Daniel (Barbara) Verhoff of Continental, Robert (Kathleen) Verhoff of Ottawa, Edward (Marge) Verhoff of Kalida, Patricia (Douglas) Lammers of Leipsic, Melvin Verhoff of West Union, Joseph (Kathleen) Verhoff of Kalida, and Diane Verhoff of West Chester.
He is preceded in death by a sister: Anna Verhoff.
Roger worked for the family business, Verhoff Machine & Welding, in Continental. He was a member of Kalida Fish and Game Club, an avid hunter and fisherman, enjoyed gardening, reading, woodworking, playing cards, home craft winemaking, and spending time with family and grandchildren.
A funeral service will begin 2:30 p.m., Sunday, January 18, 2015 at Love Funeral Home, Ottawa with Fr. Mark Hoying officiating. Burial will follow at St. Isidore Cemetery, Cuba. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Saturday and one hour prior to services Sunday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Putnam County Cancer Assistance Program. Following the committal service all are invited to a gathering at the Kalida Fish and Game Club.
