Roger L. Peterson

OTTAWA – Roger L. Peterson, 79, of Ottawa, passed away at 8:05 p.m., Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Mercy Health St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima. He was born September 17, 1946, in Findlay to the late Ray and Alma (Osenbaugh) Peterson. On February 14, 2002, he married Deborah Ricker, who survives in Leipsic

Other survivors include five children: Jason Peterson of Mt. Cory, Tim Peterson, Kim Peterson, both of Findlay, Ryan (Heather) Gerker of Lancaster and Rachel (Jeremy) Meyer of Ottawa; and five grandchildren: Gage, Caleb, Gavin, Brayden and Levi.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by four siblings: Kate Houston-Rosenberger, Paul Peterson, Richard Peterson and David Peterson.

Roger retired from Philips, Ottawa. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Ottawa. Roger loved fishing, hiking with friends, watching football and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at Trinity United Methodist Church, Ottawa with Pastor Jim Sharrett officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 11, 2026, prior to the service at the church. A meal will follow after the service at the church.

Arrangements are under the direction of LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa.
