Rolland John Porter

GROVER HILL - Rolland John Porter, 80, of Grover Hill, died at 3:55 a.m. Friday, August 12, 2016 at St. Rita's Inpatient Hospice, Lima. He was born October 6, 1935 in Melrose to the late John and Fray (Aleshire) Porter. On October 18, 1952 he married Mary Stoller who survives in Grover Hill.

Also surviving are nine children: Susan (John) Guyton, Sandra King, David (Cheryl) Porter, Debra Porter, Rick (Kathy) Porter, Rhonda (Brooks) Priest, James Porter, Pat (Greg) Nichols, and Amy (Terry) Campbell; thirteen grandchildren; and twenty-four great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by two sons: Timothy and Jeffery Porter; a grandson: Tommy King; a great-grandson: Robbie Seffernick; a son-in-law: Thomas King; five brothers; and three sisters.

Rolland was an auctioneer and was a member of Pioneer Christian Ministries, Van Wert. He loved spending time with his family and friends and going to auctions.

A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at Pioneer Christian Ministries, 3606 Slane Road, Van Wert. Pastors Chuck Oliver and JC Collins will officiate. Burial will follow in Little Auglaize Cemetery, Melrose. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Oakwood and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church. Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Hospital.
