Obituary

Ronald L. Seaburn, Sr.

DESHLER – Ronald L. Seaburn, Sr., 75, of Deshler, died at 4:41 a.m., Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at Toledo Hospital. He was born September 7, 1950, in Defiance to the late Richard F. and Henrietta (Haase) Seaburn. On June 13, 1969, he married Amy Mitchell, who survives in Deshler.

He is survived by a daughter, Krista (Don Tackett) Seaburn; four grandchildren: Kelsey (Tim Stone) Roehrig, Cortney (Adam) Knitz, Austin (Kortney Motley) Wilhelm and Derron (Jennifer Christensen) Seaburn; eight great-grandchildren: Elaynia Roehrig, Octavia Stone-Roehrig, Everest Stone-Roehrig, Brantlee Knitz, Brooklyn Knitz, Hailey Wilhelm, Conner Wilhelm and Lillyanna Alvarez; a sister, Janet (Galen Miller) Jones of Tucson, AZ; a brother, Albert (Trish) Seaburn of Clyde; and a half-brother, Todd (Tawney) Deuel of Ft. Worth, TX; and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, Ronald Seaburn, Jr.; and three siblings: Peggy Schaaf, Karen Butler and Richard Seaburn, Jr.

Ron was raised in Holgate, Ohio, moved to Weston, then later to Deshler, where he met the love of his life, Amy. He was a US Army veteran who served during the Vietnam War. Ron drove truck for over 50 years with having only one accident. He was a member of The Way Community Church, Deshler. When Ron was home on the weekends, you could find him sitting his pole barn, where he had lots of visitors. When there were no visitors, he would be playing his favorite game, hand-held Yahtzee. He later became the proud owner of a 1967 Chevy, which was turned into a show car. He attended several car shows and made many new friends.

Over the years, he had several dogs, mostly shih tzus, that he rescued. He spoiled them rotten. His beloved, Riley and Buddy, are missing him very much.

Ron was quick to temper sometimes, but deep inside he would give you the shirt off his back. He loved his family very much and will be deeply missed.
