Ronald D. Stateler

COLUMBUS GROVE – Ronald D. Stateler, 75, of Columbus Grove, died on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at his residence.  He was born December 26, 1947 in Van Buren, Ohio to the late Darold and Iva Mae (Sager) Stateler. On Aug 8, 1970 he married Bonnie Budd who preceded him in death on November 5, 1990.

He is survived by seven children: Jamie Stateler of Columbus Grove, Sarah (Ken) Sayre of Fostoria, Lisa (David) Clark of Ottawa, Diana (Donnie) Stateler of Deshler, Donna Stateler of Defiance, Katie Hadsell of Columbus Grove and Dustin Stateler of Leipsic; 3 siblings: Denny Stateler of Leipsic, Bonnie (Bob) Croninger of McClure, and Lora Siebeneck of Ottawa; 16 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his son, Ronald Jr. in infancy.

Ronald retired from Phillips in 2002 and was a US Army veteran, a member of the Leipsic VFW, Ottawa American Legion and the Tri State Gun Association. He loved hunting, fishing, and family gatherings, especially those with food.

Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 8, 2023 at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic with Pastor Kyle Thain officiating. Burial will follow at Sugar Ridge Cemetery, Leipsic with military rites by Leipsic American Legion and VFW. Visitation will be held from 4 – 8 p.m. on Thursday and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Leipsic VFW.
