Ronald Wilson

OTTAWA – Ronald Wilson, 89, of Ottawa, passed away at 6:10 a.m. on Thursday, April 13, 2023, at Ohio Health Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus.  He was born November 24, 1933, in Ottawa to the late Buster and Eva (Fisher) Wilson.  On February 14, 1952, he married May I. Fought, she preceded him in death on June 27, 2013.

Ron is survived by two children: Connie (James) Duling of Columbus Grove, and Shannon (Heather) Wilson of Delaware; six grandchildren: Brian (Alison) Laubenthal, Shane (Jenna Sigler) Wilson, Tara Duling, Tyler Duling, Xander Wilson and Benjamin Wilson; four great-grandchildren: Weston Laubenthal, Eva Laubenthal, Dylan Laubenthal, and Charlotte Duling; two sisters: Marlene Oard, Nancy (Carl) Miller; and two brothers: Rodney Wilson and Jeff (Lisa) Wilson.

He is preceded in death by a son, Randy Wilson; a sister-in-law Michelle Wilson; and a brother-in-law, Teddy Oard.

Ron retired from Niese Leasing, Ottawa, where he had worked as a truck driver.  He enjoyed hanging out with his family, fishing and eating fudgesicles.

Funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Main Street, Ottawa with Rev. Jerry Meyer officiating.  Burial will follow in Harman Cemetery, Gilboa.  Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday and again on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
