Rosella "Sally" Sdao

OTTAWA - Rosella "Sally" Sdao passed into God's hands in the presence of her family at The Springs, Lima on Friday, November 1, 2024 at 12:06 PM at the age of 94.

Originally from Maria Stein, Ohio, Rosella lived in Ottawa and raised five children with her husband, Vincent, to whom she was married on October 14, 1950.

A devout servant of God, she belonged to Sts. Peter and Paul Parish, always teaching her family to love the Lord. She loved gardening, caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, cooking big Italian meals for her family, doing crosswords and reading, traveling with her husband, and following her sports teams. She was boundlessly generous in her love.

Rosella was preceded in death by her husband Vincent, her daughter Theresa Frey, her parents Henry and Rosa (Bohman) Dahlinghaus, and her ten siblings (Cyril, Ivo, Harold, Rita, Dorothy, Paul, Esther, Marie, Palma, and Gerald).

She is survived by four of her children (Patricia Wilsey, Steven [Tracy], John [Laura], and Michael [Catherine]), twelve grandchildren (Christi, Erin, Kelly, Amy, Jenny, Tahler, Nikki, Carly, Emily, Cory, Jennifer, Michelle), and twenty great-grandchildren.

Rosella died on All Saints' Day, and her family is confident in her enrollment among the saints in heaven.

Visitation will take place at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 5, followed by her funeral mass at 12:00 PM with Fr. Scott Kramer.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
