Russell L. Agner
OAKWOOD – Russell L. Agner, 82 of Oakwood, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family at 4:59 a.m. on Sunday, November 6, 2022. He was born May 7, 1940 to the late Harold and Lucille (Doiriot) Agner. On June 9, 1958, he married Beverly K. Butler, she survives in Oakwood.
Russ served as a Marine in the U. S. Military. He retired after many years at Zeller Corporation, Defiance. He enjoyed camping at Pokagon State Park and Indian Lake with his family. His favorite hobbies were hiking, fishing, boating, and hunting. He loved traveling the world with his wife, Beverly. Spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought him much joy. His beloved pups, Misty, Angel, and Princess hold a special place in his heart. Russ's favorite words of wisdom to his children were "There's no such word as can't, anything is possible if you put your mind to it."
Russ is also survived by three children: Larry Agner, Debra (Carl) Quigley, and Duane (Lisa) Agner; two grandchildren: Diana Agner, and Brad (Ashley) Agner; four great-grandchildren: Karder, Kailee, Kahner, and Kaidee.
He is preceded in death by three brothers: Bill, Bud, and Bob Agner.
Funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Friday November 11, 2022, at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Oakwood with Rev. Terry Porter officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Defiance. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
