Ruth A. Maag

OTTAWA – Ruth A. Maag, 90 of Ottawa died 8:30 a.m., Sunday, February 11, 2024, at The Meadows of Leipsic, with her husband Valens by her side.  She was born July 22, 1933, in Ottoville to the late Isidore B. and Elenora (Blankemeyer) German.  On February 4, 1959, she married Valens Maag who survives.  Together, they just celebrated 65 years of marriage.

She is survived by her four sons: David (Regina) Maag of Grand Rapids, MI, Kenneth (Carol) Maag of Holgate, Daniel (Lori) Maag of Sagle, ID and William (Maureen) Maag of Oregon; four grandchildren; Eric Maag, Caitlyn Maag, Jasmine Maag and Alex Maag and one great-grandchild, Logan Maag.

She was also preceded in death by her siblings: Victor German, Robert German, Karl German, Paul German, Leonard German, Ambrose German, Agnes Harrison, Lucinda Karcher, Rita Phipps and Mary Lou Stupak.

Ruth was a homemaker and a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Church, Ottawa.  She enjoyed crafting, puzzles baking and cooking and time with her grandchildren.

Visitation will be at 10 a.m. with a funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa with Fr. Scott Kramer officiating.  Burial will follow in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Ottawa.
