Ruth E. Hermiller

KALIDA -- Ruth E. Hermiller, 83, of Kalida died 8:26 p.m. Saturday, June 30, 2018 at her residence.  She was born May 11, 1935 in Kalida to the late William and Margaret (Tenwalde) Honigfort.  On August 3, 1957 she married Wilfred J. Hermiller who preceded her in death on  December 26 , 2005.

Ruth is survived by two children:  A. J. Hermiller of Kalida and Linda M. (Bob) Steller of Cincinnati; a granddaughter:  Emma Steller.

Preceded in death by 5 brothers:  Henry (Doris) Honigfort, Raymond (Theresa) Honigfort, Robert (Helen) Honigfort, Anthony (Rose) Honigfort and Cletus Honigfort and 3 sisters:  Mary Ann (Harry) McElwain, Louise (Gilbert) Ellerbrock, and Margaret (Vincent) Rosenbauer.

Ruth was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Kalida and the C. L. of C. Council #179, Glandorf.  She was also a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post #63. Ottawa.  Ruth enjoyed playing cards with friends.  Through her steadfast love and support, Ruth was the glue that held her family together.  Her smile and laughter will be greatly missed.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Kalida with Father Mark Hoying officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be from 2 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township where a scripture service at 1:45 p.m.
