Ruth Fern Niese

LEIPSIC - Ruth Fern Niese, 98, of Leipsic, passed away at 9:35 p.m. on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at the Meadows of Ottawa.  She was born September 20, 1926, in Lima to the late Harvey and Wanda (Heil) Leinsetter.  On November 1, 1944, she married Charles Niese, he preceded her in death on July 26, 2010.

Ruth is survived by three children:  Nancy (Jim) Niese of Miller City, Tom (Jane) Niese of Leipsic, and Carol (Mike) Nemire of Ottawa; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law: Phyllis Niese.

She is preceded in death by a son, Jerry Niese; a granddaughter, Kristine Klosowski; a brother, Ed (Mary Jane) Leinsetter; and a sister, Betty (Paul) Ellerbrock.

Ruth loved to go camping and spending time with her family and cats.  She enjoyed wintering in Florida.

Funeral services will begin at 12 p.m. Saturday, October 19, 2024, at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic.  Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Leipsic.   A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
